Develop Your Interests

Youth is the best time to begin exploring the things that you are interested, not only in the sense of a hobby, but as a future career. You will make more friends at your work and will be interested in more things from your friends. Friends give you a reason to live in a situation like yours and once you get into a social group you will get a lot of interests but make sure you choose the right friends because you dont wanna end up in a bad company and consequently in self devastating interests.

You can also find a job related with your interest. For example, if you are interested in working with animals and hope to become a veterinarian.then you can try calling your local animal clinics vets offices humane societies and ask if they could arrange something for you, it may be paid under the table or volunteer work but if you got some experience this year, think how helpful that would be in finding some employment later.

Earn Pocket Money

The more old you are, the more money you need. If your parent don't allow you to get a job, then you can help mum or dad round the home not just your own room but the whole house a few things you could do is clean mum and dads car cut the grass pick up leaves and rubbish from the garden in doors you could wash pots help with dinner clean hoover. or you could ask neighbours if they need jobs doing grass cutting washing cars ect.

If you are old enough, you can go out and find a job. Many teens work at following places: Blockbuster, Subway, Mcdonalds, Chick-fil-A, Publix,Coles,Target, K-Mart, Bi-Lo, Gas Station, Movie Theaters, Library, Pizza Places,Chuck E Cheese, Walmart, Mervyns, Six Flags.

The Federal minimum wage of $4.75 (increases to $5.15 on 9/1/97) to most teens, after their first 90 days on the job. Many states have minimum wages which may be higher than the Federal wage, and lower wages may be allowed when workers receive tips from customers.

Understand Your Parents More

To you, your parents may be just parents. But like you, they have many roles in life. Besides being parents to you, they are also friends, neighbours, partners, voters, sons or daughters, brothers or sisters, bosses, employees and work colleagues.

When you try to work for money, you will know the responsibilities and pressure of your parents, you will also know how hard to earn money and how hard to afford the total family. All of these will let you understand your parents more.

Learn to communicate better

Communication with each other is very important for teens, communication makes the world go round. On a smaller level, communication, or being able to communicate effectively, is what gets you through each day, in both your career and personal life. No matter what your age, background or experience, communicating effectively is something that every person can achieve. It requires self-confidence, good articulation and knowledge of how communication can be made more effective. When you get a job, you will communicate frequently with your customers and workmates, and you will learn lots of communication skills.

Get Work Experience

Work experience is very important for you to get a good job later. Work experience during youth can give you an environment in which to practice what they had learnt. Therefore, you should try to get a job and choose carefully. When you have work experience, it's easy to find another good job for you.

Work experience is also important when applying to universities, college admininstrators love to see people perform many things all in one day such as incorporating school, studying, and working in your schedule respectively.
